My hometown getaway

Between the sometimes stifling demands of work and home, finding that precious pearl called balance has only been slightly less difficult than capturing a unicorn. This past weekend, though, the hubby and I decided it was time to take a “woo-sah” moment, so we booked a room at the Epicurean Hotel in South Tampa and got busy with our little hometown getaway. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had. This hotel is simply fantastic! With a great location in the heart of one of Tampa’s trendiest neighborhoods, a rooftop bar and an upscale spa, it’s an absolute jewel. And, the best part? It’s only a 20 minute drive from my house, which makes the idea of a repeat visit very easy to consider.

  1. Our getaways always includes the kids, so it’s really just the same story, but different location. I wish we had family willing to take our kids overnight maybe a couple times a year so we can get away. So I agree it’s much like trying to capture a unicorn.

    • The hubby and I believe in having uninterrupted time together and this place was perfect because we were still close to the kids.

  2. What a great spot to be at ! Definitely want to go and check out what I have nearby, we all could use one!

  3. Sounds like a great hotel. I went back to my hometown recently after 5 years and stayed in just the most lovely hotel too, I love staying in nice places!

  4. Beautiful place! The best getaway my hubby and I have had was to the Excellence Resort in Punta Cana, when my daughter had a destination wedding. The location was beautiful for the wedding – and just for relaxing!
