Can we talk about menopause for just a second? Seriously … because so few of us ever do. A few months before my 50th birthday, I experienced my first hot flash. I had to get dressed with the fan on. I couldn’t sleep through the night sweats. Today, I even cooked my first holiday meal while hot flashing! 😱 Good thing I had my @pausewellaging Hot Flash Cooling Mist close by! There’s something to be said for tradition. When I was younger, one of my favorite things to do was pile into my dad’s @ford pickup truck and head to the Friday night high school game. Today it’s a different game. It’s a different Ford. But, it’s the same excitement! I’m beyond happy to watch my beloved #FAMU Rattlers close out this football season with a bang! And, I’m even prouder to be doing it alongside my blogging partner @yoursfd. Let’s go Rattlers! #partner

We’re only 25 years in, but I think it’s safe to say he’s my happily ever after. Sure, we’ve had our fair (and sometimes unfair) share of ups and downs, but regardless of whatever came our way, we faced it together. How cool is it to have a best friend, cuddle buddy, listening ear, business coach, lover and baby daddy all wrapped up into one incredible guy? At 50, I have so much more knowledge and wisdom than I did at 20, 30 and even 40. Back then, I was full of ideas and dreams, but I didn’t always have the financial, emotional or intellectual tools to put them into action. It was a recipe for fear and self-doubt. Today, my stronger, wiser self tries to look at every idea and dream as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. I’m grateful to have made it this far.
